Joanna Williamson

Joanna E. Williamson is the founder and director of SheLives. She was born in Poland where she grew up before moving to UK to do her theological studies. She worked for the government and has training in diplomatic protocol, but her passion has always been in people development and education. She has been an eager student of theology for the last 20 years and would love to inspire women to think deeply about their life and experience in places God has called them to. Together with her husband she has founded One Rock International and leads a young adult congregation in central London. Over the last 12 years she has travelled to over 30 countries around the world training leaders and mentors. She is an author of two biographies one on Hudson Taylor and one on Amy Carmichael, two amazing missionaries she has been deeply influenced by. She has also been influenced by the teaching of Dallas Willard and is a board member of Renovare Britain and Ireland.

Melva Blanchard

Melva Blanchard is originally from Brazil. She grew up learning about the truths of the gospel and being active in the local church. After graduating from High School she decided to study business and started working for a big commercial bank in Brazil. After 4 years of experience she decided to open her own business, a small clothing store, and got some experience managing all the areas of a business. Because of that, she decided to do a MBA in Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Finance. She also worked at a leadership training non-profit organization as a volunteer at first – when she met her husband David – and later on, as a Program Coordinator. She is a Professional Coach, passionate about developing people and helping them to achieve their best. She also has a heart for missions and discipleship. Currently she is living with her husband in the US and is expecting their first child.

Melva heads up the work of SheLives in Brazil and Portuguese speaking countries.

Noortje Tyrell was born and raised in south London. She became a Sunday school teacher at the age of 17 and later joined the youth leadership team at her church. Since starting her teaching journey, she has exhibited a deep passion for the children that she teaches: a passion that stems from her upbringing within her church family. Her philosophy is that in order for children to truly thrive, a holistic approach to teaching is pivotal. She tries to live out this philosophy with the continued hope that the children she teaches will not only value education but use what they have learned to shape their lives for the better of themselves and the society in which they live.

Noortje coordinates the work of SheLives in areas of education and social justice among children, especially girls to help them start well in life.
